"The work I am doing with [Renee] is changing my life. I finally feel mentally stable (it's been at least 3 years) and we have been able to tackle some of my childhood trauma together and I can just feel myself growing and becoming a better person. My work with her is changing my life, my families life and our future families lives for the better! :)"
"I had always been creative and enjoyed drawing. I didn't know what to expect from art therapy. I knew I would look at my feelings through art making, but I did not expect to finally become comfortable with who I am. It was with Kayla that I was finally able to come out and become confident with who I am, not who everyone thought I should be. I feel free to just be myself. I now have the tools I need to stay secure. Now that I know who I am I can start to grow as a confident young woman. I plan on seeing Kayla to stay confident and strong."
"Kayla helped me and my family through the divorce. My children especially benefited. I noticed a signifcant difference in their coping and expression. They no longer have outbursts or carry anger. The kids always look forward to seeing her. They keep me on track with their appointments! Art therapy has helped my children more than I thought it could. I am so grateful of everything Kayla has done for my family. Thank you, Kayla!"
"Kayla and art therapy has helped me gain insight into who I am through art assessment. It has also helped me to problem solve, gain new perspectives about the problems and helped me in the healing process. I was pleasantly surprised as to how much can be revealed by the art exercises. It has helped me cope with stress and deal with these traumatic times. Thank-you Kayla"
"Kayla is a sweetheart...She helped me work through my anxiety. And I love knowing after graduating that the door is always open."
"I feel happy because art therapy helps me get out the sad things in my head. I like that I get to do art. Art makes me feel better; it calms me down. It feels good to get out the sad feelings because then I can do what I want with it. It's a good thing...to get out your sad and worried feelings."
"Art therapy has allowed me to understand more of where I have to develop as a person, and has offered me the tools to do that. I can recognize patterns, and learn how to change them. It has helped me to focus all the ideas that I have to move forward. It has prepared me for the future, accept the present, and coming to terms with accepting that the past has happened. I have learned how to break my patterns."
"I feel more calm when I leave art therapy. I wish I could have art therapy every day."
"Art therapy, I didn't think was for me at first, but it has allowed me to express how I feel in a different way, and I like that. I've seen multiple counsellors, and I feel comfortable with Kayla. I trust her, I feel like she knows what to say, how to say it, and when. It allows me to express myself in ways that I can't verbally. It's beneficial and constructive for me, because it keeps me involved and helps me to process my thoughts. I don't feel like I'm being judged. Art therapy has helped me to get out a lot of stuff that I've suppressed for a long time. Art therapy has brought my daughter and I closer. We can be ourselves in art therapy. I have made a bond with Kayla. I really trust her, and I don't feel like I could benefit from anyone else. And, I have a hard time connecting with people."
